§ Mr. Cartwrightasked the Secretary of State for Transport what is his most recent estimate of the number of vehicles likely to use the east London river crossing each day (a) in normal conditions and (b) when the Dartford tunnel is congested.
§ Mrs. ChalkerThe most recent forecasts, which are based on data which do not include separate assessments of the likely effect of congestion in the Dartford tunnel, are 35,000–40,000 vehicles daily in the year of opening. Assessments based on current new traffic surveys will be available later this year.
