§ Mr. Pikeasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many prosecutions took place in Lancashire in (a) 1983 and (b) 1984 to the latest date for which figures are available against persons alleged to have committed drug offences; and in how many cases such prosecution proved successful.
§ Mr. MellorThe latest available information relates to 1982 when 345 persons were proceeded against in the Lancashire police force area for offences under drugs legislation or for other offences involving controlled drugs, 324 of whom were found guilty. Corresponding statistics for 1983 will be available later in the summer.
