During 1981, the latest year for which information is available centrally there were an estimated number of 2,100 discharges and deaths from National Health Service hospitals in the Liverpool area health authority (teaching) of women diagnosed as suffering from cancer. The comparative estimated figure, for 1979 was 1,800.
