§ Lord James Douglas-Hamiltonasked the Secretary of State for Employment when he expects to receive proposals from the Manpower Services Commission for a revised scheme for tender initiative, to allow greater participation in community programme projects by professional builders.
§ Mr. Peter MorrisonI refer my hon. Friend to my reply to his previous question on 11 June at column 350. I cannot anticipate when the Manpower Services Commission will complete its consideration of these proposals because that depends upon the results of further consultations with the Building Employers Confederation. These are now expected to start next month and I hope that swift progress will be possible. I shall write to my hon. Friend as soon as I am informed of developments.
