25. Mr. Jacksonasked the Secretary of State for Transport what is the present volume of traffic on the A420 from Shrivenham to Kingston Bagpuize; and what effect he anticipates the completion of the Shrivenham bypass will have on this.
§ Mrs. ChalkerI understand from Oxfordshire county council, which is responsible for this section of the A420 that between 7,000 and 8,000 vehicles are carried over 12 hours on a normal weekday between Shrivenham and Kingston Bagpuize. Completion of the Shrivenham bypass this autumn is not expected to increase traffic flows on this road.
