§ 23. Mr. Madelasked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether his studies of the management of radioactive waste include investigation of the merits of dry storage of low and intermediate level nuclear waste at the site where such waste is produced.
§ Mr. WaldegraveMost low and intermediate-level wastes are presently stored at the site where they were produced. The aim of my Department's studies is to identify the most satisfactory methods for the management of particular waste streams in future and further storage is one of the options covered.
