HC Deb 12 June 1984 vol 61 c406W
Mr. Best

asked the Secretary of State for Wales whether, under the European Economic Community dairy quota scheme, an aggregate under production of milk in Wales over a full year will result in the Welsh national quota being reduced; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

The United Kingdom dairy quota under the European Community quota arrangements has been fixed for five years from 1 April 1984. The guaranteed quantity for the period 2 April 1984 to 31 March 1985 is 15,487,000 tonnes and for the following four years 15,327,000 tonnes. At the end of the third year the Commission will report on the operation of the levy-quota system. There is no separate Welsh quota.
