HC Deb 12 June 1984 vol 61 cc438-9W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many (a) placements and (b) registrations there were at each of the jobcentres in the Glasgow area during the last year; and how many long-term unemployed persons were registered during this period.

Mr. Allan Stewart

Comprehensive information is not available in the form requested because registration for employment is no longer a condition of receipt of unemployment benefit.

The table shows for each jobcentre area in the Glasgow travel-to-work area at the latest respective dates for which information is available the number of placings and the number of claimants who were (a) unemployed and (b) had been unemployed for over 52 weeks.
