HC Deb 12 June 1984 vol 61 c398W
Q52. Sir John Biggs-Davison

asked the Prime Minister if, in reconsidering the arrangements for the Remembrance Day ceremony at the Cenotaph, she has taken account of the widespread opinion that a single wreath be laid; and what discussions she has had with other Commonwealth Heads of Government on this matter.

The Prime Minister

I have noted all the suggestions put forward, but I do not think it would be appropriate to make any change to the arrangements for wreaths to be laid by high commissioners, and by the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary on behalf of dependent territories. I have not thought it necessary, therefore, to discuss this matter with other Commonwealth Heads of Government.
