HC Deb 11 June 1984 vol 61 c339W
Dr. Cunningham

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if, further to his reply to the hon. Member for Surbiton (Mr. Tracey) on 9 May, Official Report, column 870, he will specify separately to which policy savings in (a) the Coopers and Lybrand Associates Ltd. reports and (b) the Price Waterhouse report on the implications of abolishing the metropolitan county councils he was referring.

Mr. Patrick Jenkin

In my remarks on 9 May about policy savings I was referring to the study conducted by the treasurers of four London boroughs not to the Coopers and Lybrand or Price Waterhouse studies, both of which specifically excluded consideration of the effect of policy changes.

Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will answer parliamentary questions on those functions of the Greater London council which are being transferred to non-elected bodies.

Mr. Waldegrave

The usual conventions governing the answering of questions will apply in respect of any Government appointed bodies to which functions of the GLC are transferred.

Mr. Deakins

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the current cost of the functions of the Greater London council which are to be transferred to the London borough of Waltham Forest.

Mr. Waldegrave

The GLC does not provide my Department with an analysis of its expenditure in this form.
