asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many hours of overtime have been worked by employees in his Department in each of the last three years for which figures are available; and what was the total cost of this overtime work in each of those years.

Details of the actual hours of overtime are only readily available for the last financial year 1983–84, when 47,759 hours were worked.
