§ Mr. Dubsasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he now has any plans to increase the number of Customs and Excise officers concerned with the illegal import of hard drugs.
§ Mr. Hayhoe[pursuant to his reply, 7 June 1984, c. 220]: For 1984–85, 60 extra posts have been allocated in customs and excise to enhance preventive controls of passengers and freight. The results, together with those of other measures taken in the fight against drug smuggling, will be brought under review later in the year.
