§ Mrs. FennerThe countryside today owes its distinctive character to farming practices as they have developed over the years. In accordance with the voluntary approach of the Wildlife and Countryside Act, the agriculture industry continues to make a major contribution to countryside conservation and this is being reinforced by the advisory efforts of my Ministry.
