§ Mr. Wrigglesworthasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department with regard to his announcement concerning parole in October 1983, how many prisoners serving more than five years for offences of violence or drug trafficking have been considered exceptional and have been recommended for release on parole; and what have been considered to be exceptional circumstances.
§ Mr. HurdI refer the hon. Member to the reply given to a question from the hon. Member for Knowsley, North (Mr. Kilroy-Silk) on 3 May at column 209. The results of the assessment of the working of the new policy will be made available after the summer recess.
