§ Mr. YoungerOn 10 May 1984, the latest date for which information is available, there were 2,634 and 1,958 unemployed claimants in the Rutherglen and Cambuslang jobcentre areas respectively. As unemployment rates are only calculated for complete travel-to-work areas, they are not separately available for Rutherglen or Cambusland. On 10 May 1984 there were 94,960 unemployed claimants in the Glasgow travel-to-work area of which Rutherglen and Cambuslang are part, giving a percentage rate of 16.3 per cent.
