§ Mr. HurdThe Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis tells me that 1,536 police officers were deployed during the demonstration; that the estimated additional cost of the deployment was some £180,000; that the estimate is that some 14,000 people took part in the demonstration; and that there were 28 arrests.
