§ Mr. MooreA number of measures in the Budget will be of considerable help to United Kingdom agriculture and United Kingdom farmers — the increase in the basic thresholds, the abolition of investment income surcharge, the reduction in the top rate of capital transfer tax and the increase in the development land tax threshold. The longer-term effects will depend upon various factors, for example, the scope for making further reductions in income tax in future Budgets.
