HC Deb 06 June 1984 vol 61 cc193-4W
Mr. Canavan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will set up an independent multi-disciplinary scientific inquiry into toxic emissions in the Bonnybridge area.

Mr. Ancram

There is no evidence at present which would justify the setting-up of such an inquiry. I consider that everything necessary is being done to investigate the allegations of toxic emissions in the Bonnybridge area.

If fresh evidence were to be submitted to me I would naturally be willing to look at what further action might be required.
