Mr. Andrew F. Bennett

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will list the number of Select and Standing Committees set up in each Session since 1954, the number of meetings of each Committee and what information he has as to the number of hours each sat for.

The number of Committees set up in each Session since since 1954 and the number of meeting of each Committee are recorded in the Select and Standing Committee returns for each Session, copies of which are held in the Library.

Information on the number of hours for which Select Committees sat is not available. The number of hours for which Standing Committees sat can be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
