§ Mr. Chris PattenNorthern Ireland Office staff responsible for recruitment of home civil servants were instructed to state in all recruitment advertising after 1 193W March 1984 that the Civil Service is an equal opportunities employer and appendices A and D of the Cabinet Office report "Race Relations: A Review of Policies and Procedures in the Civil Service", copies of which have been placed in the Library, were incorporated into the Department's instructions to members of home Civil Service recruitment and promotion boards.
