asked the Secretary of State for Employment what estimate he has formed of the likely cost of 15 per cent. value added tax on the cost of building extensions and refurbishments of buildings owned by his Department in each of the next five years.

[pursuant to his reply, 4 May 1984, c. 168]: Most of the buildings occupied by this Department are held in the name of my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment and he gave the relevant information in his reply to my hon. Friend on 3 May, at column 233.

An estimate of the likely cost of 15 per cent. value added tax on the cost of building extensions and refurbishment of buildings owned by this Department in each of the next five years is:
