asked the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement about the review of Scottish lowland airports policy.

The review is being carried out by my officials, in consultation with other Departments and interested parties, to the following terms of referenceTo review the Scottish lowland airports policy, in particular whether it continue to offer the best means of meeting lowland Scotland's civil aviation requirements and to assess the financial, environmental and social consequences of any changes.

It is the intention to consult interested parties, and a consultation document will be issued shortly, and I hope the review will be completed by the autumn.
