§ Mr. Peter WalkerThere has of course been a good deal of correspondence with the British Gas Corporation on the terms of sale of Wytch farm. However, my last letter to Sir Denis Rooke on this subject confirmed that it was the Government's view, in the light of all the professional and other advice it had received, that it was both commercially justifiable and in the national interest for the corporation to accept the Dorset Bidding Group's improved offer for the corporation's Wytch farm interests. The offer made by the corporation to conclude the sale was therefore acceptable.
