Mr. Tony Banks

asked the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State answering in respect of the Arts what was the estimated outturn for 1983–84 in capital and revenue funding of the arts, including museums, in the Greater London council and each of the six metropolitan authorities; and what are the budget estimates for 1984–85.

[pursuant to his reply, 24 May 1984, c. 447]: I refer the hon. Member to the answer I gave him on 24 October 1983 at column 28. Final outturn figures of local authority expenditure for 1983–84 are not yet available centrally. Local authority budget estimates for 1984–85 will be published by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy in due course.
