§ Mr. Chris PattenCouncil regulation No. EC 857/84 setting out the general rules to be applied in relation to the application of the supplementary levy system makes provision for certain exceptional events to be taken into account in the allocation of quota. Included in these is an epizootic disease affecting all or part of the dairy herd. Clarification is being sought as to precisely which diseases will be covered by the term "epizootic".
