HC Deb 04 June 1984 vol 61 c21W
Mr. Parry

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State's recent visit to Merseyside.

Sir George Young

I visited Merseyside on 31 May. In Knowsley I visited Stockbridge village and met the chairman of the trust and some of the tenants.

In Sefton I visited the community refurbishment scheme at Marsh lane and the inner city refurbishment scheme at Waverley park.

On Wirral I visited both the Woodchurch (where I opened the first phase of a new housing development) and Ford housing estates and met local councillors.

I then returned to Liverpool and paid a visit to the International Garden Festival.
