§ Mr. John Carlisleasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether Her Majesty's Government take account of recent legislation in Namibia that has outlawed all forms of racial discrimination when formulating policy towards that country.
§ Mr. RifkindYes. We welcome the progress that has been achieved, particularly since the Racial Discrimination Act 1979. Nonetheless, discriminatory practices do continue, particularly at the level of schools, hospitals and municipalities. This must also be given due weight in formulating our policy towards Namibia.
