HC Deb 31 July 1984 vol 65 c242W
Mr. Dobson

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what advice he has issued to health authorities as to the maximum they may pay employees as an inducement to transfer to non-cash payment of their wages, in respect of the powers contained under paragraph 10(1) of schedule 5 to the National Health Service Act 1977; and what such sums health authorities have agreed to pay.

Mr. Kenneth Clarke

We have issued no advice to health authorities generally on this subject. A number of health authorities which have made cost-effective proposals have been authorised to make lump sum payments of £30 to individual employees who agree to be paid their wages other than in cash.
