§ Mrs. Renée Shortasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what response he has sent to the British Medical Association to the resolution carried at its recent conference urging the Government to make known its plans for civil defence and the provision of health services in time of war, conventional and nuclear.
§ Mr. John PattenI have not been approached by the British Medical Association in connection with the resolution. However, in fulfilment of an earlier undertaking to the British Medical Association and the Royal College of Nursing, I have arranged for the revised draft of a circular on civil defence planning in the National Health Service to be sent to them with an 'invitation to make the contributions which they offered. Copies of the draft circular have been put in the Libraries of both Houses.
