§ Mr. WaddingtonIt is not for me to speculate on the reasons that may lead hon. Members to intervene in individual cases. There have been no changes in the immigration rules or in their application which could explain the large increase in representations by Members in immigration cases over the past two and a half years. The number of port refusals, removals and deportations have remained approximately constant over the period.
