§ Mr. Peter Bruinvelsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the nature of the offences alleged to have been committed by members of the Nigerian high commission in the last five years in respect of which no charges have been made because the persons thought to have been involved have claimed diplomatic immunity.
§ Mr. RifkindThere has been a number of motoring and other offences since 1979 allegedly committed by members of the Nigeria high commission. It would not be appropriate to give detailed information about them, since the guilt of the alleged offenders has not been established in court.
