HC Deb 27 July 1984 vol 64 cc818-9W
Mr. Nicholas Baker

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what representations he has received about dumping of eggs imported from the Netherlands and France; and what action he will take on the matter.

Mr. MacGregor

I have received a number of letters about the recent growth in imports of eggs from France and the Netherlands. There is a free market for eggs within the Community, but action has been taken against imports from third countries, as I explained in my reply of 16 July, at column 68, to my hon. Friend the Member for Rutland and Melton (Mr. Latham).

There are signs that imports are falling from the high levels recorded in May and June.
