An analysis of all possible end-uses of lignite, including various forms of gasification for domestic and industrial consumers, has been undertaken by an independent group of consultants. Their report concluded that the various gasification options were 799W economically unattractive and did not offer the advantages to be gained from the direct use of lignite in power generation.
