§ Mr. Peter MorrisonSome 137,000 youngsters are recorded as having left youth training scheme programmes in Great Britain between the inception of the scheme in April 1983 and the end of May this year. Of the 25,000 who left in April and May this year, 40 per cent. were reported by managing agents and sponsors, to the best of their knowledge, to have entered employment, 5 per cent. to have entered another youth training scheme programme, 1 per cent. returned to full time education and 26 per cent. left for other destinations, including those remaining unemployed. No information was available for 28 per cent. of the sample.
