§ Mr. Alex Carlileasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what education and information service on the dangers of solvent abuse by young persons has been provided as part of their employment by officers employed at Eastwood Park youth custody centre to the local community at large from 1980 to 1984.
§ Mr. HurdOfficers at Eastwood Park have undertaken experimental training sessions for inmates on the dangers of solvent abuse and have also been able on occasion to help interested agencies in the local community by giving talks on the subject. Discussions to establish whether and/ or how these activities should continue, taking into account amongst other things the additional cost incurred, are proceeding locally.
