asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many applications for the extradition of persons wanted in connection with scheduled offences have been made to the Irish Republic since 1 January 1980; and how many have been granted.

Since 1 January 1980, 53 warrants in respect of 17 persons have been forwarded by the Royal Ulster Constabulary to the Garda Siochanna in relation to terrorist-type offences. Of these, one application in respect of one warrant has so far been granted.
