Mr. Wyn Roberts

Approximately 99 per cent.

Mr. Grist

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what proportion of schoolchildren in Wales had received measles vaccine at the latest available date.

Mr. Wyn Roberts

Most vaccination for measles is carried out on children under the age of 3 and, of the 441,000 children born between the beginning of January 1970 and the end of December 1981, 32 per cent. had been vaccinated by the end of the year in which they reached their second birthday. Comparable information is not available for earlier years.
