asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will set out the terms on which funds are available to companies under the Industrial Development Act in Wales.

Mr. Nicholas Edwards

The terms under which grants under section 7 of the Industrial Development Act 1982 are made available to companies are tailored to meet the requirements of each project assisted. For reasons of commercial confidentiality I am not able to reveal the terms of any specific grant offer.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales how many companies in each county in Wales received grant under the Industrial Development Act 1982 in each year since its introduction; and what are the lowest, highest and average amounts of grant paid.

Powys 3 0
South Glamorgan 32 19
West Glamorgan 20 13

The lowest and highest grants accepted were £1,500 and £3,900,000 respectively. The average was £188,000.
