HC Deb 25 July 1984 vol 64 c713W
Mr. Healey

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is the number of appeals by striking miners regarding family income supplement in the Leeds area; and how long these appeals are taking to be heard.

Mr. Newton

I regret that the information required is not available; and although, as I indicated in reply to the hon. Member for Great Grimsby (Mr. Mitchell) on 17 July at column148, more detailed information about appeals will in due course be available from an improved recording system following the recent introduction of the new social security appeal tribunals, this will not classify appellants by reference to their occupation or whether they are on strike.
