Sir John Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs in which diplomatic and consular missions in the United Kingdom, including the Libyan People's Bureau, the staff exceeds the staff in the corresponding United Kingdom missions overseas.

The Libyan People's Bureau was closed when diplomatic relations with Libya were severed. We have agreed that the Libyan interests section of the Saudi Arabian embassy may be staffed by two Libyan nationals. Two members of the Diplomatic Service may staff the British interests section of the Italian embassy in Tripoli.
