§ Mr. Tom Clarkeasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what increase he is considering in aid to Costa Rica; and which projects are under consideration.
§ Mr. RaisonIn 1983 £474,000 was disbursed in bilateral technical co-operation to Costa Rica. Funds were concentrated mainly on support for the Central American School of Animal Husbandry and on the provision of scholarships in the United Kingdom. We plan to continue assistance for both these activities. In addition, following discussions with the Costa Rican authorities during President Monge's recent visit, we are awaiting new project proposals which will be considered on their technical merits in the normal way.
