HC Deb 25 July 1984 vol 64 c660W
Mr. Sheerman

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if the proposed redundancies of scheme consultants in community industry will reduce the number of job opportunities for socially and personally disadvantaged young people from 7,200 to 7,000.

Mr. Peter Morrison

[pursuant to his reply, 24 July 1984]: Since 1 May, community industry has been operating under new conditions of grant agreed by its board. These grant conditions include staffing arrangements which require a reduction in the number of supervisory posts. This will help to ensure that the scheme operates more cost-effectively. The number of authorised places for young employees remains at 7,000.
