§ Mr. RidleyMeasures to restrict the movement of lorries are essentially for the local authorities concerned and no central records are maintained. A survey carried out by my Department at the end of 1982 identified some 2,200 lorry bans that were introduced on amenity grounds in England and Wales. Details of these schemes were placed in the Library in February last year.
