HC Deb 23 July 1984 vol 64 c440W
Mr. Burt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many part-time workers earning less than £5 per week have had their unemployment benefit stopped in the past year, in accordance with Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness, and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations regulation 7(1)(e);

(2) how many part-time workers earning less than £10 per week have had their unemployment benefit stopped in the past year, in accordance with Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations regulation 7(1)(e).

Dr. Boyson

I regret that the information requested is not available. However, the full extent normal rule, laid down in regulation 7(1)(e) of the Social Security (Unemployment, Sickness and Invalidity Benefit) Regulations, 1983, applies to a person who is working to the full extent that he normally does, albeit part-time, irrespective of the amount of wages earned.
