HC Deb 23 July 1984 vol 64 c479W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what advice he has received from Mr. David Taylor, Chief Officer to the Falkland Islands Government, about the sort of support staff which will be necessary for the Falkland Islands Development Corporation to become fully operational; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Raison

On the advice of the executive vice-chairman of the Falkland Islands Development Corporation (FIDC), Mr. David Taylor, a general manager, has been appointed and will take up post later this month. The development officer currently serving with the Falkland Islands Government will transfer to the FIDC once it becomes fully operational. Recruitment of a farm management adviser is in progress. Candidates for the posts of accountant (part-time) and secretary have been identified locally.
