§ Mr. Tony Banksasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, pursuant to his reply of 21 June, Official Report, column 208, if he will describe the current 399W work of the Civil Defence college, Easingwold, by way of provision of an information service for the benefit of county chief emergency planning officers, local authorities and industry.
§ Mr. HurdThe Civil Defence college keeps emergency planning staff informed of new developments by courses—both general and specialised—which are attended by those staffs, by providing them generally with information about new developments and by liaison with local authorities. Specialised courses are also run to cater for various local authority staff other than emergency planning teams, and for chief executives and elected members. In addition the college is in regular contact with the Society of Industrial Emergency Service Officers, and many representatives of industry attend courses at the college.
