§ Sir George YoungA number of options for the future of Thamesmead were set out in the consultation paper "Streamlining the Cities: Housing'. Ministers are now exploring in detail the possibility of transferring ownership to a trust along the lines of the Stockbridge village trust at Knowsley. Should this not prove acceptable, the GLC's housing stock could be transferred to London borough ownership.
