Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe, on 12 July, she will place in the Library a copy of her reply to the Civil Service unions about the future occupation of certain Manchester city centre offices by Government Departments.

§ Mr. Alfred Morrisasked the Prime Minister, pursuant to her reply to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Wythenshawe, on 12 July, what criteria are being used to judge whether the operational obligations of the four Departments are being fulfilled both efficiently and economically where their offices are at present located.
§ The Prime MinisterIt is for individual Departments to determine the relevant criteria in the light of the functions carried out from their Manchester offices. But Departments take into account the costs of accommodation in determining whether their operations are efficient and effective.
