§ Mr. Foulkesasked the Secretary of State for Defence how much has been spent on all areas of expenditure at Ascension Island since 3 April 1982; what expenditure is committed for the current financial year; and what is the forecast expenditure for 1985–86.
§ Mr. Stanley[pursuant to his reply, 16 July 1984, c, 58]: Expenditure on Ministry of Defence facilities at Ascension Island from 3 April 1982 to 31 March 1984 amounted to about £33 million. We expect to spend a further £27 million in the current financial year and about £11 million in 1985–86.
