§ Mr. Irvingasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will estimate the number of single homeless applicants for furniture grants in each of the last three years; how many applicants were refused and given furnished accommodation; and at what cost to public funds;
(2) if he will estimate the cost to public funds of providing a single homeless person in inner London with (a) furnished accommodation and (b) unfurnished accommodation plus furniture grant;
